Brazilian Sensation to be back in Pep Guardiola’s XI for Carabao Cup Final

It is still not a pleasant time for the 20-year old,Gabriel Jesus as he suffered yet another injury this season. It will not be a good thing for him if he does not come back sooner as the world cup is round the corner and if he does not get much game time before June, it will be a disaster both for him and the Brazilian national team. Jesus was having a great time last season but after his injury, he was still to return to his potential this season. However, when things looked good, he suffered another injury in the knee against Crystal Palace in the club’s first game of 2018.

Gabriel Jesus
Gabriel Jesus damaged his knee earlier this year in Man City’s first draw of the Premier League against Crystal Palace

Since then he has missed eleven matches and it might take another couple of games till we see him in action. Earlier this February, his brace from the knee was removed and this was the reason of Pep Guardiola expecting him to be back before the Basel game. However, it didn’t happen that way as Jesus is yet to resume full training.

Carabao Cup is in ten days from now and it is still possible that he will be back for the tie and Pep Guardiola is hoping to bring him back. Nevertheless, if he does not get enough game time, should Pep field him in such an important game? Thus, we might see Jesus being rested till the half time against City’s FA Cup tie against Wigan on 20th and might be brought to the game in the second half.

Let’s hope that he is back as soon as possible because we all want a player of his potential to play in games like this and prove their worth.
