It has been stated that Manchester United keeper David de Gea will be going nowhere this season, with a host of top clubs, including the champions of Europe, Real Madrid keen on signing him. The current story coming from the Times suggests that though the United fans were worried about his stay at Old Trafford, it seems that they can stop worrying now and be at ease. The paper claims that the Spanish international is all set to pen down a new £220,000-a-week contract with the Red Devils, which will keep him with them till at least 2021.
With just 18 months left of the 27 year old star’s current contract, it seems that he could now be thinking of staying back in the Premier League, rather than moving to the Bernabeu.
Zinedine Zidane’s side have been struggling in the league themselves and after winning two consecutive Champions League titles, might not be able to make the same kind of impact this term.
Due to this, it seems that the former Atletico Madrid man might now want to stay where he is and help Jose Mourinho’s team to win some more titles.
Over the years, the Spaniard has been the difference at the back, helping his team secure some crucial points and wins over their opponents.
He was also instrumental in helping his team win the League Cup and the Europa League in the previous campaign and the fans of the Manchester based side would be glad that he has now decided to stay.
