Everyone knew at the start of the last season that the then defending champions Leicester had very little chances to perform as they did in the last season and indeed it was true. They had the worst start losing their first game to Hull City and soon they found themselves near the relegation zone. Their domestic form did not interfere there European form as they had a dream run in the UEFA Champions League. They qualified in the group stage and also defeated the Spanish Giants,Sevilla on aggregate, they shown some superb class when they played against Sevilla in the King Power Stadium which really made them the deserved champions of the tie. They also played very well against Atletico Madrid but they lost the tie by a narrow margin on aggregate. Leicester City who are always expected to avoid relegation was expected to have another dream season by their owners. They sacked their Premier League winning manager,Claudio Ranieri for this reason and also due to some internal problems of the club. The players gave a big reaction in the following game as they thrashed Liverpool 3-1 and continued to win games thereon and had a very positive finish to the season. They finished 12th in the Premier League finish which is very good. Their manager Craig Shakespeare really did a great job as he lifted up the spirits of the players. It will be interesting to see if they can keep their best players in the club this season as their big players like Riyad Mahrez and Jamie Vardy have already attracted giant clubs. If they can hold on their players and the teamwork they have, they can certainly have a safe mid-table finish this season.
