Should VAR be introduced in English Premier League?

Conte demands VAR after Chelsea’s Morata’s equalizer against the Red Devils was ruled out.

Chelseaboss Antonio Conte is unsatisfied with the decision and demands for the technology to be out across English football.

AntonioConte has demanded the introduction of VAR in the Premier League as he is extremeky unsatisfied with his team’s 2-1 defeat against rivals Manchester United.

Despite getting an early lead at Old Trafford on Sunday through Willian’s goal, the goals from Lukaku and Lingard led them to lag 2-1 fifteen minutes from time.

Therewas a controversial moment four minutes from regulation time, when the Spanish striker Alvaro Morata steered Fabregas’s pass into the net only to be flagged offside. Replays showed that the offside was an extremely tough call, as Chris Smalling was almost At exact level with Morata , and so Conte believes that the use of video assistant referee(VAR) which has been used in cup games in England this season, would have made a difference.

“ I think the draw was the fair result for this game. But we are talking about a defeat and that’s all,” he told Sky Sports. “I must be honest , I didn’t see the situation, but if you’re telling me Alvaro Morata wasn’t offside, I think VAR is very important, especially in the game where there are things to super check “.

With this defeat Chelsea remained fifth in the standings and Tottenham Hotspur on registering a 1-0 win over Crystal Palace has moved up into top four. Conte admits his side are now facing a tough task in the race for the champions league places.

“ we had to be more clinical “he said, “ we know there is a battle (for the top four) and it will be difficult to find a place in the Champions League ”

FNW believes that refereeing is part of the game and this small mistakes by the referees are also part of the game. If we entirely depend upon technologies, then one day it will come that robots are playing and officiating while we are merely watching.
